PMHC focuses on but not limited to the following key program areas;
  1. Psychosocial Support through Counselling.
  2. Economic skills empowerment (Tailoring, fashion & design, Saloon -Hairdressing & styling, Bakery & Cookery, Events management & home economics, MDD)
  3. Social Empowerment.
  4. Tree planting for nutrition, financial independence & environmental conservation.
  5. Sports for health, peace, and Unity.
  6. COVID-19 Emergency Response.

Where We Work

We desire to expand our services to more parts of West Nile and across Northern Uganda seeking to restore hope and dignity through Psychosocial support, socially & economically empower adolescent girls and boys in different communities to attain better livelihood and meaningfully participate in the development activities of the Country.

Our greater hope is to take our rehabilitation interventions to other regions of Uganda, so far we started with carrying out interventions in Arua and its neighboring districts of Maracha, Koboko, Obongi, and Moyo.

Projects

Tree planting

Plant a Tree, eradicate Poverty, save and protect the Environment (PEPE-U-SAVE) Project. This is a project to contribute to sustainable environmental management and reduced the impact of environmental degradation and provide improved nutrition and financial independence in the local communities of Oluko, Pajulu, Vura, and Ajia sub-counties in Arua district. The project targets two (2) key major objectives;

  1. To create awareness on the risks of uncontrolled tree cutting and human activities that result in environmental degradation by a host and refugee communities in sub-counties of focus.
  2. To plant at least 10,000 seedlings in order to restore the environment, provide financial independence and nutrition in the poor local communities where Hope center students hail from.

Sports Academy Project

Sports Academy Project; this is an innovative intervention to encourage young girls and boys to fully participate in Sports activities for quality health, Peace, and Unity among them and their communities. The Sports activities include Football, net ball, bicycle racing, rope skipping and life balancing on a rope.

Center Based Social-economic rehabilitation and reintegration through Psychosocial Support, Economic skills training and Social empowerment. This is a deliberate effort to restore hope and financial independence to the affected girls and boys, their families and communities. So far 58 students have benefited from this intervention.

COVID-19 Emergency response

COVID-19 Emergency response to the high risk communities in boarder areas of Arua District; This project focuses on awareness raising on COVID-19 while working closely with local artists and local radios to spread translated information to those who badly need it, and preventive measures such as wearing PPEs (Masks, Gloves, ….).
